MAZUREK - TOPIC OF PRUSSIAN FOLKLORE
As early as the fourteenth century, not the indigenous inhabitants of Prussia were determined as the Prussians, and only occasionally were named. Indigenous, enslaved the population of Prussia was a service not only for the Knights, but also the bishops. By contrast, in areas of the Polish Kingdom, polonized Prussians, have the same rights as Polish citizens.
Wealthier, emigrated and found the more remote areas of the Kingdom. Poor, move to the Polish native land, away from the influence of Teutonic.
Prussia, by the criminal activities of the Teutonic Knights, was very deserted. The German population was encouraged and privileged to colonize depopulated Prussia. The Knights also accept Polish settlement.
Much advantage of this opportunity was to Prussians. With their polonized names, they returned to their native land, with the rights of Polish settlers. This population received a new identity.
Determined them as Mazurians, and has since completely ceased to exist name of Prussians.
With the flight to the Kingdom, Prussians brought with them many ritual customs. In Poland today, can still find traces of the people.
Great genius and composer Frederick Chopin, Prussians owe him that to the world heritage of music were introduced topics of their love for games and dances.
Chopin through travel to the North Mazovia, a frontier of Prussia, he had contact with the folklore of this land.
To illustrate the journey of Frederic Chopin, I present two maps together with a description of places he visited.
The presence of the young Chopin on his first vacation, has been mentioned in Szafarnia. Dziewanowski assets, where he went to the visiting area, the Castle in Golub-Dobrzyn, visit Ugoszcz and Torun. During that stay, he visits the village Obrowo. Is present at harvest festivities involving other villages as Obory, Bochemiec, Rodzone, Dulnik, Retowiny and Plonne.
In 1825 and 1827 was Turznia near Torun. He made a trip to Gdansk. Around July 1827 is in Kowalewo, where from he travels to Plock.
Despite the fact that these are times of Germanic oppression, his stay on the Land of Dobrzyn remained deeply in the memory of Frederick. In 1830, travels to France, and there his memories return. Composes the Mazurka in As- dur op.41 No. 3
Mazur, a piece of music, was only thanks to the genius of Chopin. Composers to the next Mazurkas, S. Moniuszko - Mazurka from the opera Halka, W. Osmanski-White Mazur, K. Szymanowski - Mazurka in C- dur op.50 No.1.
Without a doubt, a form of music had to be taken from the ancient folk rituals.
Mazur has become a very popular social dance and went to the salons, and came from the tradition of cult of the Prussians.
